Non-working caller ID on HDTV

For nearly four weeks, I have been unable to use the UCID on the television, as a result of technician's changing out my digital set top boxHe replaced it with a DVR box, which I did not ask for; after speaking to a half a dozen service reps in the past 3 + weeks, I was finally informed that the set top box the tech installed is not compatible with UCIDThis is inexcusableI had rep after rep swear to me that it wouldn't be necessary to send out a tech, that all they needed to do was send a signal to the boxObviously that failed the first time and on all the other times they triedWhy didn't the technician that came out have a standard HD digital set top box to swap out for the one that was defectiveI told him at the time that I didn't want to pay for DVR service, and he assured me I wouldn't be billed for it, and that Comcast would give me three months of free DVR serviceI am tremendously disappointed with the high level of difficulty a customer is presented with when trying to resolve problems with ComcastMany reps appear to be completely ignorant of what to do.
Of course, I'll switch to Knology if my problem isn't solved Saturday, as I am at my wit's end.

I am hoping for a satisfactory resolution to this problem Saturday.  I have requested that the technician bring a standard HD digital set top box that is compatible with the universal caller ID.  If he does that, my problem should be solved.
