No dial tone or Tel. light on the modem/router.

No dial tone or Tel. light on the modem/router.

I've just installed a new modem/router.  The telepnone #1 light does not turn on.  There is no dial tone. This device came with no battery installed so am wondering if that has any effect on the re-booting process.

 

I have followed the instructions in this support site, to the letter, without success.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The lack of a battery will have no affect on initilaization....   you may be n an outage condition, or the activation did not take properly.   Call into Comcast and speak with a CSR about provisioning the device for service.
