No dial tone on phones

No dial tone on phones

My phone says line in use. If you pick up the phone there is no dial tone but you here static. I have a phone that is direct wire into the wall and it is doing the same thing. I tried calling my # from my cell and got voice mail right away.

You have inside wiring issues with your telephone wiring in your home.  It can be a short, open, loose connection or splice or damaged or corroded jacks or wiring or cords.  

 

Because the inside wiring is owned by the homeowner just like your plumbing and electrical, you will need to hire a local low voltage contractor, or Comcast to come in and find / fix the issue.  If you know someone handy, they can help troubleshoot it also.
