Need to access VM access telephone # from phone keypad

I screwed up and when asked for user # I put in the last 4 digits of my phone number.
Now when I try to access VM from keypad the auto entry dials the last 4 digits.
Was I supposed to put my tel # in there?
How can I erase and reset to the correct VM access tel # ?
Thanks
