I gather you have internet on the same cable and it is working? Or are you using something else to get online?
I merged your multiple posts here into one thread. One of them wandered by the Macintosh forum with "expert" guidance; you didn't do that.
You need to determine if it is a problem at your house or more widespread. It sounds perhaps more widespread.
Check the outage board.
Do you get a dial-tone? Is your cable television working? Is the telephone the only part not working?
I know you say that the Chat is worthless, but did you actually try that? Did you try email help?
Have you tried resetting your modem? There might be a small recessed button to press with a toothpick or other small device.
