My Caller ID on PC and TV doesn't work

Comcast says it was added to my account 2 years ago.  Should I expect it to start magically working one day or should I just forget about this feature?

I figured out how to check the power levels on my boxes myself, so was able to experiment with the splits.  I think I've found a good setup and now have my boxes in the 51's while getting my modem levels back down closer to 0.  Your help is greatly appreciated Smiley Happy

I called and was just told you can't have both PC and TV Caller ID on the account.   I have had PC on my account for 2 years.  I had him remove PC and add TV and he said it will work in 24 to 48 hours.  Not that I believe any of this.

This should be fixed now. We see Caller ID alerts for your account being sent to the TV and to Xfinity Connect client.

 

Please validate and let us know if you are still having issues.

Hi

 

My caller ID works on the TV fine---it has worked for months and it used to work on the computer as well.

 

Now when I try to connect on the computer ,  I get the message:    'CONNECTION FAILED"

 

I've have deleted the program and reinstalled it but keep getting the same CONNECTION FAILED message.

 

Any ideas???

Having the same problem and was told the same thing. 48 hours. Now this morning, a new problem. I was disconnected from the caller ID. I tried to reconnect and it doesn't do anything. I am about ready to uninstall the whole thing as I see it doesn't work. Any clues what to do? Thanks.

I am sorry for all the trouble with your caller ID on your TV.   I re-provisioned your caller id and I can see the banner pop on my side and delivered.    It should be working on your side.

I've switched to X1 since I opened this thread.  My caller ID works, but the black box won't go away (only on the bedroom TV).  It stays until I reset the box.  I called my home to see if it would make it go away, but then I had 2 caller id boxes on the screen.  So I turned notifications off.  Then my wife punched in a channel and the message that it was switching to the HD channel popped up and that did not go away.

the banner pop, not sure why it didn't show on your TV.  Can you go into the menu and turn it off, exit, then turn UCID back on?

The box should stay between 25-53.  Please let me know which days/times works better for you to send a tech out.

Thanks for looking into this.  Does this mean it's not getting a good signal?  If so, I can probably adjust my splits in the attic.

yeah, the upstream is way too high (54.0)  if you can keep it between 24-53 will be great.

We had voice installed several days ago and the caller ID has never worked on either the television or PC. I called Comcast and someone was to call me back within 24 hours.  Still waiting for that call to come.

Hello,

 

My Caller ID used to be listed on my TV, but hasn't been listed for a couple weeks.  When I went to look under Menu ITV to see if it was changed, nothing happens when I hit the ITV button.  It kicks me out of the menu option and goes to the TV channel.  Any ideas?

It can take up to 72 hours before VOICEMAIL is working....  ( it did for my installation )....   I won't even go into how long it took for the CallerID to show up on my X1 system..... (yikes)

SOunds like you have the X1 systenm, and within the settings your FASTER NAVIGATION is set for ON..... go into your settings in the COmcast Labs area and turn FASTER NAVIGATION to OFF....

Thank you for your response Ray.  I do not think I have the X1 system.  I do not see any reference to comcast labs.  My caller ID is no longer showing up on my television screen when a call comes in. Also, now on Demand is no longer working -  reference code CL-0x000f.

AT this point, call 1-800-comcast and have them ensure that your boxes are provisioned correctly... there's no rhyme or reason, but sometimes account codes just go to la-la land and disappear from your account, no matter how many years you've been a customer....

Can you check my numbers again?  I made a change in my wiring.  Before I had an amplifier before the split to modem/Tvs.  I moved it after the split on the TV side.  I do see that my modem downstream power went from 2 to -13.  I know its not as good as it was, but is this still okay?  Can you see better results on the X1 boxes?  Thanks for your help Smiley Happy

I checked your levels again and still above 53.1 and from an X1 perspective, even that little bit over can cause quite a few issues.   Your level is at 54 dBmv
