Digital Phone Cuts In and Out

Digital Phone Cuts In and Out

My digital phone has been cutting in and out for the past few months.  This wasn't an issue when I got the service in 2007.  This just started happening recently.  The cutting in and out is very similar to cell phone service.

What are my options?  It is frustrating to be the phone and you can't hear a majority of the conversation.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Digital Phone Cuts In and Out

Call Comcast support, they can do a health check on your eMTA telephony modem and decide the next step, if they need to send out a tech.

In the mean time, please reset the eMTA by pressing the small indented button on the back panel where the cables attach.  You need to use a toothpick or some poker like the end of a pen.  Also plug in a known good wired phone directl to the eMTA's L1/L2 jack and give it a test to make sure it's not your inside phone wiring causing the cutout.

Re: Digital Phone Cuts In and Out

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I am still having the issue. I did unplug the modem and that did not work. I have direct phone that I plugged in and still the same problem.

I did not stick the needle in the back yet though.  I will try that next. The problem seems to be getting worse.  I don't talk on my house phone too much but when I do this cutting in and out happens frequently.

Thanks,

Dina
