De-Activate Voice Mail

Can anyone tell me why it is so difficult to de-activate my voice mail service on my phone.  I do not want it.  I have tried 3 times in 2 and a half weeks to get de-activated.  I tried this morning with a on-line chat tech.  He told me that it would off with in 20 minutes.  Well it has now been 7 hours and it is still working.  I called in 3 days ago for it and that didn't work.  And the 1st time was 2 and a half weeks ago and that didn't work..  Is this task that difficult to do or accomplish.  I think i do now deserve a $20 gift card...  I am becomming trully dis satisfied with Comcast.

The Comcast Cares Team has been notified and will get the right local people involved.

Voive mail is now off.. Thanks   Would love to know why it took so long to get done though.
