Comcast & Ooma

Just got home with a new Comcast Voice package that I hadn't really expected since I have Ooma and am happy with it.

 

Now I'm thinking if I can set this all up and keep Ooma as my main number and keep the Comcast package as a second line with it's own number that I would go that route.

 

Is there a way for this to work?

There's nothing wrong with what you propose.  Comcast Digital Voice can certainly be a 2nd line.

Thanks for the quick reply and good news.

 

So I can just setup the new Arris modem and plug my Ooma into one line of it and then add a phone to the second line on the back of the modem and the modem will know which number to ring.

 

Sorry, just want to make sure. I'd rather not have to backtrack.

Just a follow-up....

 

I tried to do the self install this morning but it wouldn't work.

 

I disconnected my Ooma to start with and connected to a live chat tech. He got Comcast Voice activated and running. Then I plugged my Ooma and router back in and everything is now working.
