Comcast Call Blocking Service is hacked?

Comcast Call Blocking Service is hacked?

For several months now I have been trying to add up to 25 numbers to the call blocking list.  I have noticed that after certain numbers are selected, that magically disappear after adding another.  I have also noticed that it happens only to particular numbers.

What is worse is that Comcast does not use encrypted web service (i.e. https).  Come on Comcast -- get with the program!!  Your customers are being duped by some of these solicitors that call constantly.

I am extremely frustrated!  I am getting an increasingly huge amount of telemarketing calls each day.  I, too, am unable to block any of them.  And I beleive they are also changing the numbers that they are calling from.  I may need to change my phone service, and go elsewhere to have all of my services bundled.

Yes, nefarious companies attempting to avoid the Do Not Call registry do indeed use callerid "spoofing" as a way to get around any attempts at Call Blocking.  Really adventurous companies will also use the number they are calling ( your number ) as the number that will display in your Callerid.

The FCC has produced an informative guide that explains CallerID Spoofing and that can be found at this link:  http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing
