Changing location

I moved our computer and all the attached equipment (including the internet & digital voice cable modem) to a different room in the house.  I am using all the same equipment... the only thing that's changed is the room I put the computer in.  The internet still works fine, but for some reason the phones are malfunctioning.

I still get a dial tone, but the volume "oscillates" back and forth.  When I make a call out, I keep hearing two high pitched beeps and my call does not go through.  When I receive an in-coming call and pick up my phone to answer, it does not connect with the other party.

Any suggestions?

Re: Changing location

Unplug the cord from the eMTA's L1/L2 jack and plug in a known good wired phone and test it.  That will determine if it's a inside telephone wiring issue or on Comcast's side.

You don't state if your eMTA was backfed into your inside phone wiring in the old location or not, or if your using a cordless phone that might be interfering with your wi-fi router.
