Cannot listen to voice mail in SmartZone

Cannot listen to voice mail in SmartZone

In SmartZone under voice mail I see a new voice message but clicking on the play button does not play the message. Basically, nothing happens.

From my limited knowledge, you may require Quicktime to listen to your voicemails.

Please share what operating system you are using, & what web browser.

 

Normally issues like this are due to misconfigurations on the default media player such as Windows Media Player on Windows pc's. Many times installing another media player like Apple Quicktime gets the settings back to normal.

Hi Jay,

I have win 7 64, with Firefox 4, when I clicked on the voicemail, it told me I needed Quicktime to listen to it.

I only have win media player installed, don't want quicktime, so I'll guess I'll live without it.

Since your running Windows you certainly should be able to play the messages with the default windows media player, that's what most use, and I have no problems with it either.

 

You might want to reset the defaults in media player by going to

 

start / programs / default programs

 

 

Next select "set your default programs"

 

Highlight windows media player, and follow selections to reset the defaults.

 

See if the helps launch media player to play the voice mails.

Good one Jay, I hadn't set win media player as default. (I like to re-install the OS now and again to keep it clean). It installs the Quick time plug in, (among all the others) when set to default.

 

So that probably takes care of it for me, can't test it just yet 'cos I deleted my V/mail. I'm sure it will work now,  not a biggie though, there's always *99....Thanks.
