Calls go to voicemail & caller ID shows wrong #!

I did an upgrade Sunday to X1 as a triple play customer and swapped out an older Arris cable modem for the latest Cisco model.  Long story short got TV, internet and phone working OK but then discovered any inbound phone call to our voip line goes straight to voice mail and while we can make outbound calls, the caller id shows a 253 number as opposed to our actual 425 number!  I've chatted with support which was somewhat of an ordeal (I have to say) with the result that the rep said she made a few setting changes and it would take an hour to go into affect.  These setting changes made no difference and its now a day later.

 

Does anyone have a clue why changing the cable modem would cause these issues which I assume are related.

 

BTW, thinking that maybe the 253 phone number is stored in the cable modem I used my PC to look at every Xfinity setting to no avail.
