Caller ID on TV hasn't worked in a few months

I have had a similar issue as other posters in that my Caller ID on my TV worked fine for a long time and then stopped working at least 4 months ago.  When trying to modify the ITv settings, I get the error: CID0001 Caller ID Error - We're sorry, but we could not update your settings at this time. (Code CID0001).

Have called twice to 1-800-COMCAST about this and was told that our account needed to be reset and that it would start working in about 72 hours.  Neither time did it start working again.  I don't have time to wait on phone to keep calling in so I have now also emailed Customer Care and hope for a resolution and additionally, if someone watching the forum can help or expedite, I would greatly appreciate it.

I've notified the Admin team to look into your account and equipment to get it working again.  You will hear back from them in a few days.

Hi Dsh109 - That error means that there's something wacky going on with the codes on your account preventing you from using the service. I asked that our regional office reach out to you to make this happen.

Got a call from Sandra this morning to verify that caller ID is now working on my TV and it was!  Not sure of the details on what had to be done but she mentioned that it had to be re-activated in our account and what was done to fix it was noted in our account in case it happens again!  I will definitely go the forum route again in the future to log issues.  Thank you!

ONCE AGAIN...CALLER ID ON PC ISN'T WORKING!!! IT WORKED ONE DAY. AM I SURPRISED? OF COURSE NOT!!! SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have no problem with Caller I. D. on computer.  BUT--caller ID on my Television screen has not been available for months.  I have called before  and nothing has been resolved.   Frank Lynn

Frank, first double check that your set top box has been reset by unplugging waiting 2 minutes and replugging the box.  Give it a few hours to reload the apps and overnight to reload the guide.

 

In the mean time, I'll notify the Comcast Corp admin team to look into your account codes and see if everything is properly setup.

 

Watch this post and your email for any updates from the team, as they might need more detailed info  from you.

@ninatoll - to clarify, are you having trouble with your particular caller id credentials are displaying, or is this a problem with caller to pc not working at all? If you could keep your posts to one thread, or create your own thread and list all the issues you're having, I'll be sure to have them addressed. You did not respond to my post here - http://forums.comcast.net/t5/Universal-Caller-ID/Caller-ID-on-computer-not-working/m-p/810722#M298 so I did not engage additional resources. Please clarify how we can help and we will do just that.

Hi Frank!

 

I just reconfigured some things on your account that should correct the issue. Can you tell me what you're seeing in about 12 hours. It should take this long for that service to be reprovisioned to your account.

Frank, can you access the Caller ID to TV menu? You can get here by pressing the red "Menu" button on your Comcast remote control once to access the Quick Menu. On the Quick Menu, navigate to Interactive TV icon (Indicated by ITV icon) using the left and right arrow keys. Press "OK" button on your Comcast remote control once. The Interactive TV menu will be displayed. Select caller ID. Once that menu pops-up, what do you see? Is the "caller ID is" selection toggled on? Are you receiving any error messages?

Would you believe it?     Today September 25, 2010, caller ID is alive and working.  The time is 8:00 PM.
