Cable Modem

Interested in purchasing my own cable modem, wondering if Arris SBG6400 is compatible for voice and internet for X1 platform.

Re: Cable Modem

No sorry it doesn't have voice.

The only real retail choice right now is the Arris TG862G. Having 8 downstream channels it's good for tiers up to 150Mbps. It has a built in router, but it's not very good. For a price of around $200 really not worth the money in my opinion. It can be bridged and you can use your own high quality router with it.

There is one other older approved device for retail the Arris TM722G this has 4 downstream channels and is good for 105Mbps tiers. No telling how long Comcast will support that device, as they are encouraging users to upgrade 4 channel modems
