Bad Battery in Arris TTM? No digital voice

Bad Battery in Arris TTM? No digital voice

I was under the impression that if your cable modem went out (which mine does several times a day) that the battery backup installed in the Arris TM602G would prevent your digital voice line from going out also.

Am I wrong about this?  Do I have a dead battery? The battery light is lite when the modem is up and running but once the modem goes down...the light goes out and the digital voice line goes dead...know dial tone.

Do you actually have a battery installed? Is the battery actually making contact with the contacts in the battery box? Obviously, it could beat a dead battery. In that case, you will need to call in tech support.

Yes, there is a battery. Ive removed the battery cover and even taken out the battery and pushed it back in..I had the same thought about the battery not making contact. But this isnt the case..the battery is pushed in all the way.

Do you own the Modem or are you renting?

Its rented...I just got done talking to comcast live chat and was giving a number to call for a replacement battery. I called the number and a new replacement battery is being shipped out to me. Also from there end I guess they are able to tell if your modem battery is bad or not. Which they checked and told me it was in fact depleted/
