Arris TM822G log - new entries dated 1/1/1970!

Hi

A few weeks ago I decided to replace my X3/DPC3939 Gateway with an Arris TM822G + a Netgear R7000. On 12/29 I activated my TM822 via the web activation page, and everything seems to be workimg ok (except my voicemail - which no longer makes my phone flash when there is a new message...and the stutter sound is also missing). Tonight I decided to reset the modem as I read that rhis can often fix this issue.

Anyway, I toook at the Event Log for the mode, and besides the events that happened on 12/29, I noticed s couple of weird entries on 1/1.....instead of being 1/1/2015, they are listed as 1/1/1970.

Here is part of my log....I,didn't put the entire thing in it bc it's so,long, but there is one more event from 1/1/1970.

-------------------------------------
Sorry that I don't know how to make the log look better on here...but the important thing is the date - 1/1/1970.

Here is what it shows for my firmware version etc
-------------------------------
HW/FW Versions

-------------------------------

So I was wondering if any other Arris TM822G owners have seen this, or could please check to,see if they are experiencing this. And also, my log indicates it updated the firmware on 12/29, yet the firmware is still from Sept 2013. Is this the most recent build? If not, what is?

I read that when this happens it be something that affects all Arris owners...so I was wondering if others are seeing it.

Thanks!

Re: Arris TM822G log - new entries dated 1/1/1970!

Call 1 800 COMCAST to make sure the telephony modem has been provisioned correctly.

That date represent the time when unix began jan 1st 1970. My motorala modem also shows this date on some lines

Jan 01 1970 00:00:136-NoticeN/ACable Modem Reboot due to T4 timeout

Thanks for the quick replies.

I'll call comcast to ask about the provisioning.

And somehow I knew about that date being the start of Unix....but since yesterday was 1/1, I figured the modem was screwing up,the year.

Re: Arris TM822G log - new entries dated 1/1/1970!

FWIW, that is the date and time stamp that a modem defaults to using when for whatever the reason may be, it is not communicating with the T.O.D. (time of day) server.

Unix time starts at 1/1/1970.  After a reset, unitl the clock gets set, it will use Jan 1, 1970.
