Answering machine

Hi,

 

We used to have our phone voice mails to our answering machine where we had to dial star 99 to retrieve them.  This way was great as my mother has bad hearing and I could listen to the messages later.  Now instead of dialing the star 99 we have to press a button on the phon to listen.  The bad thing about this is that you can only hear them once and they automatically get deleted.  How does one fix this so messages go back to saving with the star 99.

You have to change the number of rings on the phone answering machine to a high number than the default Comcast voice mail rings, which is 4.  Or turn off the answering machine on the telephone all together.  Having both complicates things.

 

If Comcast VM picks up on 4 rings, then the telephone answering machine must be set for 6 or higher.
