Re: signal strength boost

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do,, but :

Some routers have a setting that allows you to adjust router power

Sometimes you can buy high performance antennae for your router as a third party add on

Some folks wrap tinfoil on their router Antennae -- I don't personally thing this is a good idea because it changes the loading on the Transmitter circuit

Some folks buy a Wireless access Point to retransmit the wireless signal in a remote location

Some folks use an Ethernet ofver AC powerline adapter set that they plug into the AC walljacks and use to transmit their network traffic acros the AC Power lines in their homes.

Even though you didn't mention it I'll assume that your are having connectivity issues between one or more wireless clients and the router. Have you tried just re-orienting the existing antennas (if it has them) and or changing the operating channel that the router is using ? Can you reduce the distance between it and the client/s and or try reducing the number of obstructions/walls/ceiling/s ? Could a 2.4GHz telephone system or a microwave oven be interfering ?
