Wireless Range Limitation with Xfinity SMC Wireless Router/Modem

I recently installed the Xfinity SMC wireless router/modem as part of a Comcast upgrade. I noticed that the wireless range within my house is significantly less than that of my previously installed Belkin wireless router. Is there a way to increase the range of the SMC router without adding a separate network WiFi extender?

No, the SMCD3GNV has a nasty reputation for very poor wireless range and performance.  If you still have the Belkin, then I would suggest you call Comcast and have them place the SMC in bridge mode and just hook up the Belkin as your regular router.  Alternately, get rid of the SMC and replace it with a normal cable modem or EMTA (if you have Xfinity Voice) and again, just hook the Belkin back up.
