assessing voice mail from another phone

How do I assess my messages from a different phone (other than my home phone)?

Re: assessing voice mail from another phone

Call your home # from that other phone and when voicemail answers and you start to hear your message, press # and follow the prompts.

Re: assessing voice mail from another phone

slouke is correct as long as you don't have a message machine attached to your phone.

If you do have your own message machine at home in addition to your comcast voicemail, you will need a Comcast voicemail  "access number".

Call comcast customer support (don't waste your time with "chat"; they ave no clue ow to do this) and ask for the local voicemail access number for your area.

When you call this number you will be prompted to enter your ome phone number and access code.

But if they have a home answering machine picking up before voicemail, they would never get a VM message.  They wouldn't need to call the VM access number.

Just saying...

well.....   except in the case where a call comes in while someone at your home is on the phone and they don't take the call.  In that case the call will be directed to the comcast voicemail.

Re: assessing voice mail from another phone

Some folks set the Answering Machie to pickup first so all calls go to the answering machine except if they are on a call, it will go to Voicemail.  That way they never miss a call.  Of course after a while they realize that  the functionality of Smartzone/voicemail has a validity of its own.

Except that we'll never know in this case because Crystalgail is one of those people who come and make a post and then they never come back, for whatever reason - like they get an email notification of a reply to their post and they click on the link and it says the post is deleted...
