I have the same problem.

My phone is not ringing in my house but it should. Why?

Things you can try:

  1. Reset the Modem using a toothpick to depress the switch in the little hole on the back of the modem.
  2. Plug a test phone directly into J1 on the back of the modem.
  3. Make sure the ringer is turned on, on your phone.

I just reset the MOdem - still not working.

Plug is in J1 (I think)

Ringer is turned ON

 

What else can be wrong?

Are you getting a dial tone?

If you call your own phone from a cell phone do you go directly to voice mail?

If you call home from a cell phone and go to voicemail do you get your own voice mail?

If you go online to comcast.net and go to digital voice do your call logs show incoming/missed calls?

Yes, I've got a dial tone but nothing after that - just silence.

From my cell phone - is not going to voicemail - I can hear rings on my cell phone but nothing on my home phone.

(by the way - sorry for my english - I try to fix the problem, before my boyfriend gets home)

I went to comcast.net

I've got voicemail from my cell phone

Missed, answered and placed calls from my cell phone

Your english is fine.

You need to call comcast at 1800comcast -- sounds like something they might be able to fix from the office.
