Did you recently subscribe to Comcast Digital Voice?

NO - have bhad Comcast Digital Voice for quite some time - just bought new home phones.  It says I have a VM call but when I hit "select", it tells me to give my VM#.  I have a Voice pin #, but evidently it is not the same.

Sounds like you have not programmed the VM number into the phone.....   Remember that *99 is the number that must be programmed into the phone's menu system so that the select button knows what number to dial to access the VM...

The problem is, I don't remember my  voice password so am unable to access my voicemail on the phone.  I have gone to "My Account", clicked on "Settings" and when it brings up the screen to change password, I click on "edit" -but ' as I do not remember the password, I cannot set a new one.  I tried the voice pin #, but it doesn't work.  To be honest, I don't even remember setting up a voice password. Thankfully, I can access any voicemail on the Internet, but it is still annoying on my phone.

I suggest calling into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and speak with a CSR about defaulting your VM password at this point.
