Disabling call waiting when someone calls me

I know you can dial *70 before making an outgoing call to disable call waiting, but is there any way to turn it off after someone calls me? I'm pretty sure this isn't possible but I'd like total certainty.

You will have to test it, as I now have my call waiting disabled, but if I remember right this is what to do.

 

While you are on call, ask the person to hold, and flash the switch-hook or if you phone has one, press the flash button. you will get a new dial tone,  dial *70, you will get the confirmation dial tone, then flash the switch-hook to return to your original call.

FINALLY! With Shelley's help, we no longer have call waiting and didn't lose any other features. Thank you, Shelley!

O-M-G WHO  is Shelly and HOW did she fix this issue? I have been talkign to Comcast for days trying to get Call Waiting disabled and have had no luck. I went through this last year and somehow is was resolved by COmcast saying it was a model issue. Well, the feature is now back on and I CAN NOT get it removed. Their system says the feature is removed but it's still on my line and NO ONE can figure out why.
