synchronizing desktop computer emails with iphone emails

I cannot delete emails from my inbox only once and have both my iphone and desktop updated simultaneously.  I have to go in and delete them on both individually

It sounds like one or the other is configured using POP3 instead of IMAP.  When both devices are configured with IMAP for that account, everything will sync, and if you delete a message on one, it will be deleted on the other.  So go into the settings on each one and make sure you have it enabled using IMAP.  You didn't say what kind of desktop you have, but the phone will auto-configure the account with IMAP since Comcast accounts are now IMAP compliant by default.  If you need the settings for either one though, they are found here-----------------
