smtp problem in sending email

Is anyone having problems sending email?

 

My Outlook (2011 version) has for the day not been able to connect to the smtp server.  I am able to receive email, but not send any.

Post all the settings you are using.

 

For the SMTP server, type in SMTP.comcast.net

The port should be port 465 with SSL on.

This server requires Authentication must be checked.

 

Do not check SPA ( secure password authentication)

Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X

Thanks very much!  That worked.

 

I've been sending emails using the smtp.comcast.net on Port 25 for some time and it always worked.  Why do you think it suddenly stoped working?

Port 25 was blocked by Comcast about two years ago.  Emails were sent out about it, and many Threads were posted here in the Email Forum to notify everyone.  If you do a search about Port 25 you will find many threads.
