If you have a Windows based Machine, you might try going into the Recycle Bin on the Desktop to see if your deleted folder wound up there .  If so, you might be able to restore or recover it from there.

I really did not understand all of the replies . I thought that everything remains on your hard drive . All items on that folder were not all E-mails .Thank you for trying to help me . If you come up with anything else please let me know .

Folders are normally on the hard drive.

If you are running Microsoft Windows, the screen you see after you power up is called the Desktop.  Normally you can find an Icon called "Recycle Bin" in the upper left hand corner of the Screen/Desktop.  If you leftclick on the Recycle Bin icon you might find the missing folders there.
