Outgoinog email no longer works on Android phone for Comast account. All other email apps work fine.

I discovered yesterday that I have the same problem. Since then I've reset all 'outgoing server' related settings; no joy.  Since then I've deleted the account from my Samsung Note (2014) 10.1 tab, then recreated it. Getting 'can't connect safely to server' error at the end of setup, when using SMTP on port 587 w/ SSL. Port 465 setup still completes normally, but no joy when I try to send newly created email through that server.  The email ends up in my OUTBOX and never resolves.  -tom

BTW... I have 3 other 3rd party email accounts, all working fine from my tab, inbound and outbound... -tom
