maintaining e-mail continuity when changing ISPs

I am in the process of changing Internet service providers and want to maintain e-mail continuity. Is there a preferred method to accomplish this?

Re: maintaining e-mail continuity when changing ISPs

When you cancel service, your Comcast email will no longer be available to you.  So before you cancel, look at this post from CCCarole on how to move emails using a desktop email client----------------------------

If you don't have a lot of email in local folders, you could start forwarding what you want to keep to some other free-standing account like Gmail, Outlook.com or Yahoo, etc.
