Not exactly sure what you are asking.

If you have installed 10.11, you have a fresh OS.

What personal stuff and software do you want to add?

Here is an example of what I did after a clean install.

Moved my iPhoto and i Tunes library, contacts and Safari bookmarks.

Added new versions of Pages and Numbers from the app store.

Set up Mail with my address and password.

Replaced random stuff on my desktop from my backup.

Re: instructions to set-up new hd for iMac el capitan 10.11.x

In my experience, I tend to do a clean install every other Mac OS release. A lot of the data I store is done in iCloud (Safari bookmarks, Keychain, etc), so a lot of that data gets imported when I sign back into my iCloud account. Any additional data I have that’s not stored in iCloud (some documents, photos, etc), I’ll generally copy to a USB drive before I reformat the storage and then copy them back afterwards.

I also make sure, as a matter of course, to make the necessary backups in addition to copying the files to a USB drive. After all, data that doesn’t exist in more than one place isn’t really a backup.

Hope this helps answer your question.
