How can I get my inbox items in order of current date?

Assuming  you are using the default Full version of Xfinity Connect, at the top of the message list you should see "Sorted by:" and then a value.  Right-click anywhere in the grey area to the right of that and you will see this-------------------

Select the criteria you want.  Or, depending on what your sort order is right now, try clicking on the little black arrowhead next to Sorted by: and it will toggle from ascending to descending order.
