hardware issues with Windows 10

Not sure where to post this, so please move it necessary.  I have uograded to Win 10 from Win 7.

1- When I click on Start/Power/Shut down the shut happens.  However, When I boot up again ( or if I use sleep mode instead of shut down) First I get a window showing my name and a place to type in a password... I don't recall ever setting up a password, and would prefer not to have to do that.  I get a window with choices of shut down or restart.  If I choose Restart, I get the spinning circle for a very long time before I actually am booted up.

I have no clue what settings, or where they are to change this behavior.  Can anyone help me?  With Win 7, when I booted up my PC it automatically went to the home page within a minute or two.

2- I have switched to using myxfinity.net as my homepage to using bing.com because the search field in xfinity is not working either.

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks,

Irish

Re: hardware issues with Windows 10

Moved here to web browsing from networking for lack of no longer having a more appropriate computer hardware / software board....
