emails in trash deleted after 30 days

I used to be able to keep emails in trash.  Now the preference has changed on its own to 30 days.  I cant change the preference to never because it is not an option.  Sometimes I have to find old emails and now I cant.  Why has this changed?  Also, I never changed it!!

Re: emails in trash deleted after 30 days

The maximum retention period for the Trash or Spam folders has been 30 days as far back as I can remember, and I've been with Comcast about 10 years now.  Most webmail programs have limitations for how long you can keep items in either of those folders.

Re: emails in trash deleted after 30 days

Thanks for the quick response.   However, I have been a Comcast customer for many years and I know firsthand that I was able to retrieve very old emails dating back at least a year if not longer.
