emails disappearing

i use Outlook 2007 for my comcast email.  starting several days ago, emails in my inbox are disappearing after 24 hours.  unacceptable.  how do retrieve the lost emails and prevent this from happening?  i am using cached mode and setting to keep emails forever.  thanks for any help.

If you mean you set the preferences in Comcast to not delete, the settings in Outlook will override it.  Also, do you have the account enabled on another computer or other device using POP3?  If so check the settings there and see if it is set to delete messages after downloading.  By default, POP  will download the messages and then delete them from the server.
