emails disappeared

emails disappeared

I signed into my comcast email and there were only 60 which is weird because I always have hundreds, and while I was in the emails all 60 disappeared and then 2 came in. I checked my trah and they are not there and I checked on my phone and they are not there either.  Where did my emails from this week go?

Check your deletion schedules to make sure they are set the way you want them. From the Inbox page, go to Preferences>>>>Email, and look about halfway down the list to "Email Deletion Schedules". If it's not that, then as a precaution I would change your password to something stronger than whatever it is right now, and also change your secret question and answer. Suddenly vanishing emails is a common sign of a malware infection, or a compromised account. Run a complete scan of your machine with your A/V software to see if it finds anything wrong.

Same thing happened to me on Saturday on my iPad Air.  In the middle of composing an email, my Inbox cleared out.

Do you have a smart phone or maybe a tablet with the account enabled on it?  If so it could be downloading the messages and then deleting them from the server, if you are using POP3.  You have to tell each client/device to not do that.
