Periodically when I sign up to my email, I get a message that my ssn might have been compromised. Is this from Comcast?

Re: email

Sounds like a scam.

Please see Comcast Email Phish or Legit? How to Tell (and rules for posting) for more information.

Samples of recent phishing messages can be found at http://constantguard.comcast.net/alerts under "Top Phishing Scams".

No, don't reply or open any attachments.

On a side note, I reccommend that you check the Equifax, Experian, and TransAmerica websites on how to lock your credit files so no one can apply for credit in your name.  It is worth the small fees to lock and unlock your files and can be done over the internet.   It is not a credit monitoring service you have to pay monthly or yearly.
