I received this email today:

Kindly follow the upgrade screen by selecting the upgrade my account
Termination of your Email address has started pending on your refusal to upgrade to our new version.

Files on your mail will be deleted and access will be Denied.

Regards,
Xfinity Comcast

When I click the link to "upgrade my account" it asks me to type in my username and password.  I did not do this as it seems suspicious to me.

Is this an legitimate email from Xfinity Comcast?  Has anyone else received this email?

Thank you.

Re: email received

The email is bogus.  Your instincts served you well.  Do not click on anything in that message, and don't provide any information.  Comcast will not send you such an email threatening anything.  Here is how to tell a legitimate message from Comcast----------------------

It's called "phishing", an attempt to steal login and account information.

Please see Comcast Email Phish or Legit? How to Tell (and rules for posting) for more information about identifying, reporting, and posting phishing emails.

Samples of recent phishing messages can be found at http://constantguard.comcast.net/alerts under "Top Phishing Scams".
