email not sending, am able to receive. Get an error message
"sending of message failed. the message could not be sent because the connection to outgoing server smtp.comcast.net timed out"
using mozilla thunderbird, can send mail via comcast page which I rarely ever use.
POP server is mail.comcast.net port 110 as always, any ideas what I could try ?
All other internet activites are ok, can browse and receive but not send.
Are your sending (SMTP) port and SSL/TLS settings correct? See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email.
Thanks for the reply, not much of that in thunderbird.
I have:
Server type - pop mail server
server name -mail.comcast.net
user name - my user name
security settings - was using none, changed to ssl as per link, no effect
outgoing server - default
authentication method - normal password
Thats about it aside from checking message/storage options.
