e-mail problems

I can receive e-mails, but they are missing the text.In order to read my e-mail, I open the entire e-mail screen, highlite the one I want and click on REPLY.This allows me to read the text. If there are attachments, I cannot open them. I can send a reply e-mail. Any suggestions for me? Thanks

Re: e-mail problems

Try clearing out your browser's cache. Cookies and other small files in there can cause a lot of problems if they become conflicting, broken or expired. When you have done that, then close out the browser and re-start it.

If that doesn't do the trick, then try using a different browser and see if you can duplicate the problem there. If it works OK then you will know the problem probably lies with the first browser. ie: if you are using Internet Explorer, try Chrome or Firefox.

Also, you could try switching from the Full version of Xfinity to the Lite version. Go to Preferences>>>>General, and see which one you're using now. Full is the default. Check the Lite, sign out of your email and then back in again. You should be in the Lite version now.

Let us know if any of that helps. In addition, as a temporary work-around, you could try using the very basic m.comcast.net/m---just type that into your address bar and hit return.

If you are using IE 10, go to "Tools" in your menu bar, and make sure Compatibility mode is enabled.

Re: e-mail problems

I love Internet Explorer and find Chrome's fuzziness awful and Firefox second best.  It infuriates me that I can no longer use it to read my Comcast mail in the same format that I always have.  Why do I pay the big bucks for the business service?  No one with Comcast is willing to help other than give me the same old paragraph.  Comcast has made a change somewhere and this is why I am having this issue.  Very frustrating and unacceptable.

I have not been able to read e-mail on xfinity homepage, did go to Foxfire and can read from there.  Is there a reason I can fix that after many years had to do this?

Re: e-mail problems

I have been using the mail utility that is provided wirh MacOSX. Now it keeps asking for my password and promptly rejects it. Is there some kind of fix-it password I can use until I can change it? I have been using Firefox for years.

Re: e-mail problems

What browser are you using-----Safari?  Try clearing out the cache/browsing history, then close it out and re-start it.  If that doesn't do it, try using another browser and see if you can duplicate the problem that way.

What happens when you try to open the Comcast email at work?  Are you getting to the home page or what?  Any kind of error message?

Re: e-mail problems

I cannot get into my e-mail account but my husband (on the same computer) can.  What's up with that?  Do I need to call Comcast to fix or is there an easier solution?

What happens when you try to access your email?  Are you the secondary account and your husband the primary or what?

Re: e-mail problems

No - I am primary and he is secondary.  The way I am accessing my e-mail now is going to his account, logging him out and then putting my e-mail and password in.

Email Expert

Re: e-mail problems

In the experimenting I have done with this, I have found that I can't be signed into both the Primary and a Secondary at the same time, using the same computer and the same browser.  So try this-----sign in to your Primary account using, say--- Internet Explorer; and then sign in the other account with Chrome or Firefox.  See if that resolves the issue for you.

I just tried it with a secondary account in Firefox, and the Primary in Chrome, and so far I'm looking at both accounts with no problem.

happy thanksgiving emoticon
