I would like to delete old emails. How can I do this without choosing each email then deleting it.

You can check the box to the left of each one to select them, then hit the trash can icon in the toolbar.  Or, if they are in sequential order, check the first one, then hold down the Shift key and scroll down to the last on and check it.  That will select everything in between.  Then hit the trash icon.  Or, right-click on the folder, and select "Empty Folder".
