deleting email filters

deleting email filters

i have set up a lot of email filters and some are from over 10-15 years ago, so I want to delete a lot of the filters but when I try to delete any 1 of them it errors out and will not allow it. I can set up new filters but they are not filtering out the unwanted emails as I think I forgot to uncheck the box for "do not process other filters". the unwanted emails have a series of 7 random numbers in the from and when I use * as a wild card character, the unwanted emails still get through. I use 7 asterisks for the random numbers, I also set up a "from" using 6 asterisks, 8, and 9 so if they add another random number in the from it should still delete the unwanted email. but all of the unwanted emails are getting through. I don't want to use the spam folder as some of the emails I get and want are considered spam
