changing a pop3 email a/c to imap

How do I change my pop3 email a/c to an imap a/c? Can it be done seamlessly and retain the original email 'name'?

Go to your email settings and change them to:

Incoming server: IMAP.comcast.net
Incoming Port to 993 withbSSL a on
OUTGOINGBSERVER: SMTP.comcast.net
Outgoing port 465 with SSLON on
Thus server requires authentication must be checked


CC
Do NOT checkbSPA (secure password authentication )


Need Email Help? Please post the following information in your post.
Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version?
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X
Details of the problem you are having.

thanks for that information.

If I do these changes, will that allow me to delete an email on one device and it will delete that email across multiple devices? If not how do I do that with a Comcast email a/c?
