How do I remove an attachment from the letter to which I am replying?

When I click on Reply, the new message Compose page opens, and the attachment is just not there.  Or do you mean before you click on Reply?

When I try to compose a new e-mail, it automatically attaches "MY DOCUMENTS" file. Due to the size of the file, the composed e-mail can not be sent.  How can I disattach the file?

Looking at the attachment above the body of the email, do you see a trashcan icon to the right?  Click on it to delete the attachment.  It would look like this-------------
