additional e-mail ads

I'm used to ads appearing on the right side of the e-mail window, temporarily closable by clicking an arrow, but now I'm seeing another ad, in the lower-left, encroaching on the menu listing my e-mail folders. Is there a way to make that go away so I can see my whole set of folders?

Re: additional e-mail ads

What you are referring to is the Promotions ad.  You can make the ad go away by using a browser add-on called Adblock Plus.  But the space occupied by the ad will still be there.  It will just be blank.
