Xfinity wifi hotspot not going to sign-in page

I notice that the xfinity wifi hotspot network is connected and the firefox homepage shows up, but not redirected. Is it because it's a Firefox home page and not Google? I try to navigate to another website and then I get the error message I'm not connected.

Re: Xfinity wifi hotspot not going to sign-in page

Have you tried going to wifi.comcast.com to see if it will give you the login page. I am unable to get a good signal to the hotspot that is near my house. Without going outside and about 100' from it, to get the proper page. Try https://wifi.comcast.com or https://comcast.optimumwifi.com/  or https://accesspass.wifi.comcast.com/account/

Some devices are known to not properly redirect to that page. That is by design, by the programmers that designed the OS for the product. It allows it not to be infected by viri or malware.

Re: Xfinity wifi hotspot not going to sign-in page

I am in my house on my laptop, next to my xfinity voice/internet modem. I see the xfinity wifi network. I am automatically connected to it. It however doesn't go to the sign-in page automatically.  I shouldn't have manually go to a login page, but it helps to know where to go to sign in.

Sometimes you have to. Due to there is an issue with Windows, regarding Captive Portal redirection. A lot is third party Internet security that is causing it. The other can be out of date software on the laptop for the Operating System and Firewall settings.

As long as you are not using some third party Internet Security software. You should get the Captive Portal login page, when you open your web browser, after connecting to the XfinityWifi hotspot. Otherwise, try one of the two links I posted.
