I need the names of Comcast's incoming and outgoing E-Mail servers and the type of server, to activate Windows Mail. Where can I find them?
Incoming (pop3): mail.comcast.net
Outgoing (smtp): smtp.comcast.net
Incoming port : 110
outgoing port: 465
Hope this helps.
The outgoing port should actually be 587. Everything else is correct though.
I just received an error msg on Outlook saying they had a problem connecting with SMTP Port 587. Tried Port 465 and it didn't work either. Any suggestions?
I have the same issue. It was working and I went on vacation and when I came back it did not work,
The message said tje name on the incoming server is wrong, I set up mail.comcast.net about 10 times and I still can not get it to worK? If anyone has ideas please let me know.
I set the incoming port to every combination suggested. I still can not receive email but I can send mail.
The error said the name of the incoming server is wrong but I set it to mail.comcast.net. It will not work on my XP or windows 7 machine but it will work on my windows 8.1 machine,
I use Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail with Comcast mail accounts.
The incoming (pop3) server is: mail.comcast.net
The Outgoing (smtp) server is: smtp.comcast.net
If using Windows Live Mail, on the servers tab, make sure "Log on using clear text authentication" is checked.
Try the port settings in this screenshot:
My outgoing mail doesn't work. My SMTP says my password is wrong. It is not but how do I change it to make this go away. I can't send mail. HELP
