How do I reset the time of message reception for my inbox?

Assuming you are using the default Full version of Xfinity Connect, the time stamp on incoming emails is determined by the clock settings in your operating system. So check that and see if it's OK.
Are you using the default Full version of Xfinity Connect or the Lite version? To check, from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>General>>>>>>Version. If you are using Lite, then again go to Preferences>>>>>Email>>>>>>>Timezone. You can pick the right zone for your location there. But it supposedly only affects the Lite version.
Time and Time Zone are set to automatic under Settings and the time shows up accurately on my computer. Times for messages in my inbox are something like 3 hours and 17 minutes different and I can't figure out any way to change that.

What kind of computer is this? What time zone are you actually in, and what time zone is the computer using?
I am using the Lite version and I did change the timezone but the time posted for reception of message is still 5 hour and some odd minutes wrong.
There is a long standing bug in Xfinity Connect webmail, both Full and Lite: the List view timestamp appears to be from one of the "Received:" headers, while the timestamp displayed when you open the message appears to be taken from its "Date:" header. I reported this over a year and a half ago and it's still not fixed. That's our Comcast!
Usually the "Date:" header timestamp is very close to the "Received:" header timestamp, but not always. They can be hours apart.
What do you see when you compare the timestamp you see in list view with the timestamp you see when you open the message?
I think the initial problem was the time zone setting under Preferences but the weird thing was that the difference was not just in hours but in an odd number of minutes. Anyway after resetting the zone AND restarting the program the times are now correct.

Here's an example of that. In List view, the time shows as 6:54am EDT, the time this email arrived at Comcast:
But when you open this message, you find that it was sent by the Forum mailer at 3:19am EDT:
This 3 hour and 35 minute time difference shouldn't exist. It's a bug in Xfinity Connect that's been present for years, and will appear whenever there is a delay between the time an email is created and the time Comcast accepts it for delivery.
