Switching from pop to imap- sent mail is gone now!!! Help!

Hi- I really need some help/advice.

 

1) I had/have a pop email account. I just created an imap account. When selecting, and moving my sent emails and dragging them from my pop account to my imap account account sent folder they disappeared. I can not find them anywhere- they are not in my imap account and they are gone from my pop account. There were over 4,000 sent emails I need for my business. Does anyone know where they may have gone or where I can check? Worst case scenario does anyone know how I can restore just my sent mail from apple time machine?

2) It seems like with my other folders they automatically populated with my emails (folders like junk, trash, inbox, etc) but not all of them transferred over. Does the population cut off at a certain number of emails? How do I get ALL the emails from my inbox pop folder into my inbox imap folder? I'm nervous about dragging them from one folder to another for fear they will disappear like my sent mail.

 

Please help! I called the email specialist department at Comcast and they said they don't offer support for this. I created my imap account while online with the chat rep from Comcast and she gave me the exact instructions for transferring my old emai folders to my imap folders. I find it very frustrating and maddening that I followed Comcasts instructions and then they say that they don't offer support when things go wrong.

 

Any ideas?
