Some sent email is not received

Some sent email is not received

Emails sent to some addresses do not arrive at the destination but show as sent.  Addresses affected inlcude charter.net and verizon.net.  Also happens when sending same emails on a second PC and Iphone.  Does not affect received messages from these addresses, but my replies to them are not actually received.  First noticed 4/22/15.

Re: Some sent email is not received

Have those recipients call their email provider/ISP to see if there is a blocking issue for some reason for your address or the Comcast domain.  Also have them check their Spam folders for the missing messages.

Be aware that if email you send is addressed to another ISP, and Comcast decides it's spam, they just throw it away. There's no bounce message, no notice to you, and no notice to the intended recipient. It's despicable, but that's what this company does.

Comcast Security Assurance should be able to help you with this, if you can get past the first-line reps. Call them at 1-888-565-4329 (from http://constantguard.comcast.net/dedicated-support/contacts#s5_nav).

brucesbaker: I just looked, we didn't mark any of your outbound messages as spam in the past week.  That being said, Verizon and others can reject messages also.  As BruceW pointed out, larger providers may not always give that type of feedback to senders (and this has some merit, consider spoofed addresses used in spam).

The alleged "merit" is minimal, while the damage to customer trust is huge. If I can think of ways to reduce the number of "looks like spam, did not send" notices to a reasonable number, so can a multi-billion dollar ISP.

I fail to see what "spoofed addresses" have to do with it. Comcast always knows which customer account sent an email, "spoofed address" or not, and simply "disappearing" email that looks like spam instead of notifying the account holder is irresponsible.

How would Comcast feel if Fedex or UPS just semi-randomly threw away the packages it sent, with no notice to anyone?

I'm having the same issue.  Emails are being sent as normal from the email client (thunderbird), and are showing as sent in the folder.  However, it's not being received by certain recipients.
