Republican Emails Going Directly to SPAM

Why are the emails I receive from Republican candidates going directly to SPAM?

There could be a number of reasons.  Start marking them as not spam to help train the filters as to what you think is or is not junk.  One obvious reason would be that a lot of people are marking them as spam.  That's how the filters work.  The more often something gets marked as junk, the more likely they will be shunted to the Spam folder.
